TaskLink
How it works

Small jobs, matched safely, paid cleanly

One platform, two sides. Here’s the full picture for customers and for young workers — plus exactly how money moves.

For customers

Getting a job done

1. Post your job

Title, description, category, area, pay and safety notes. The category sets the age group automatically.

2. Choose a worker

Local workers apply with a note. You see their rating, verified ID and completed jobs, then assign whoever feels right.

3. Payment is held

The amount is authorised on your card through Stripe and held safely — nothing is released yet.

4. Job done, funds released

Mark the job complete and the money moves to the worker’s wallet. You both get a receipt.

For youth workers

Earning your first money

1. Browse jobs near you

Everything is pre-filtered for your age. 14–15 year-olds see light jobs only; 16+ sees every safe category.

2. Apply with a short note

Say when you’re free and why you’re a good fit. For under-16s a guardian can see your jobs and messages.

3. Do a great job

Turn up, be reliable, keep chat on-platform. Good ratings unlock more work.

4. Watch your wallet grow

Earnings land in your TaskLink wallet. Add a bank account and withdraw whenever you like.

Payments & Stripe

How money moves

Stripe processes every payment. Money is held while a job is in progress, then lands in the worker’s TaskLink wallet — and the worker withdraws it to their own bank account.

Customer pays by card

Card details go straight to Stripe. When a worker is assigned, the job amount is authorised and held — not yet paid out.

Held until the job’s done

Funds are only released when the customer marks the job complete. If something goes wrong, our team can step in before money moves.

Worker withdraws earnings

The balance shows in the worker’s dashboard. They add a bank account once and withdraw via Stripe, usually within one working day.

In this prototype no real payment is taken — flows are illustrative and would run in Stripe test mode. A production build would use Stripe for card processing, Stripe Identity for verification, and bank withdrawals for workers.
Our story

Built for neighbours, not for scale at any cost

TaskLink started with a simple observation: there’s always a teenager on the street who wants to earn, and always a neighbour who could use a hand with the leaves, the bins, or the dog. What was missing was a safe, fair way to connect the two.

So we built one — with safeguarding as the product, not a policy. Age decides what you see. Payments are held until the work’s done. Conversations stay where there’s a record. And a parent is never more than a tap away.

It’s deliberately local — neighbourhood by neighbourhood, right across Scotland, because trust is built face to face.
